This year’s walk will honor the strength and resilience of Heros and Survivors. The day will be filled with meaningful activities designed to recognize the journey and challenges a person with lung cancer has faced.
Survivors will be able to create their own survivor sash to display their strength and they’ll receive a flower that symbolizes the hurdles they have overcome. It can be placed in the Memorial Garden on a Mission Marker during the walk. If you don’t have a Mission Marker yet, they’ll be available to purchase on event day at the Lung Force merch table in Mission Village.
If you’re looking to walk on event day, you can register here. Or you can donate to support the person who is participating in the event.
The goal is to raise $125,000. So far, more than $27,200 has been raised.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women and men. Someone is diagnosed with lung cancer every 2 minutes and 14 seconds, however, the survival rate has increased by a dramatic 13% to 22.6% in the last 5 years.
