Police raid clinic, Oakland County mansion of doctor believed to be major pill trafficker

Police raided the clinic and the Oakland County mansion of a doctor who’s believed to be a major trafficker of pills throughout Michigan and beyond.

A 78-year-old doctor from Bloomfield Hills is believed to be one of the worst offenders of pill trafficking in the state. He’s accused of falsifying records, writing false prescriptions, and flooding the streets with opioids and painkillers.

Stellantis to lay off UAW workers starting Oct. 1 in Metro Detroit

Stellantis is planning layoffs of UAW-represented workers.

The automaker says the action occurs across its manufacturing footprint in the United States. It also says it’s cutting seasonal supplemental employees effective Oct. 1.

The number of workers has not been confirmed, but the automaker released a statement saying, “Seasonal supplemental employees hired to support production by covering for increased vacation usage during the summer months will be separated from the company effective Oct. 1, in accordance with the 2023 UAW collective bargaining agreement.”

Class action lawsuits filed over Oakland County doctor’s alleged sexual abuse -- everything we know

Multiple class action lawsuits have been filed against Dr. Oumair Aejaz, who has been accused of sexually abusing and videotaping numerous patients without their consent over several years.

Victims were videotaped at several hospitals and even a swim school.

Weather: Seasonable stretch in Metro Detroit to end September

A misty morning with low lying clouds. Seasonable conditions expected through the rest of the week and the weekend.

Morning cloud cover will hopefully break a little this afternoon with highs in the mid-70s. A few sprinkles or spotty slight showers remain possible Wednesday. Drier conditions develop Thursday and continue into Friday.
