DEARBORN, Mich. – Hundreds of people attended a Stand with Lebanon rally Wednesday in Dearborn.
“This is one of the oldest Lebanese communities in the nation and probably one of the largest ones,” Osama Siblani said.
Siblani helped organize the rally.
“It’s to voice our concern about what’s happening in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon, and how this war there is affecting our community here,” Siblani said.
Many of those attending the rally have family living in Lebanon.
“I was born in Lebanon,” Zeina Nasser said. “I’m also an American citizen. I’m out here to speak for the Lebanese people.”
Nassar said her family living in Lebanon was not hurt, but she worries for their continued safety.
“You can’t help but cry all day, and it’s terrorizing,” Nassar said. “It’s very scary.”
