Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run that critically injured a motorcyclist in Bloomfield Township. (WDIV)

Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run that critically injured a motorcyclist in Bloomfield Township.

The incident occurred at 10:29 a.m. on Thursday (Sept. 26) in the area of Telegraph Road and West Maple Road.

Officials said the crash involved a 2007 Harley Davidson driven by a 65-year-old Auburn Hills resident and an unknown white SUV, which did not remain on the scene.

Police said the driver of the Harley Davidson was transported to Corewell William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak with critical injuries.

Officials said the Bloomfield Township Police Department is investigating the crash with assistance from members of the South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT).
