Town hall in Warren draws thousands to hear Trump talk automotive industry

Trump also talked getting rid of EV mandate

WARREN, Mich. – Former President Donald Trump hosted a town hall Friday at Macomb Community College in Warren.

Thousands of people packed the indoor facility to watch the town hall, which U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee moderated.

The automotive industry was a focal point of the town hall. A handful of Metro Detroit automotive workers asked questions during the event.

In his responses, Trump talked about his plans to bolster the automotive industry by limiting foreign competition through tariffs.

Trump also talked about getting rid of the EV mandate.

Vice President Kamala Harris put out a statement ahead of Trump’s visit.

“Donald Trump is one of the biggest losers of manufacturing in American history. He makes empty promise after empty promise to American workers, but never delivers. Trusting Donald Trump again is a risk America’s autoworkers cannot afford.”
