When deputies arrived at the scene, they saw an SUV leaving the property. They conducted a traffic stop and saw five people inside the car.

As deputies searched the car, they found a 9mm handgun. Deputies said they identified the owner of the handgun, a 20-year-old Hamtramck man, and learned he did not have a concealed pistol license.

According to deputies, the owner of the handgun is the same person who allegedly fired at least one shot in the area while near the water.

The Hamtramck man was arrested and lodged at the Monroe County Jail on “several” firearms violations.
