WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two men have been arrested in Waterford Township after an armed robbery and carjacking of a woman filling up her tank at a gas station.

Officials said the two men arrived at the gas station in a black Ford Mustang, later determined to be stolen, and approached the woman filing her tank.
Police said one of the men produced a black handgun, pointed it at the woman, and demanded the keys to her vehicle.
Officials said the victim was assisted by another person who, too, was filling up their vehicle, and both men got back into the stolen Mustang and fled the scene.
An off-duty Waterford police officer spotted the suspected vehicle in the lot at Meijer on Highland Road in Waterford.
The officer relayed the information to Waterford Dispatch and watched as the men moved throughout the lot.
Uniformed Officers arrived and conducted a felony stop on the vehicle, arresting both men for the attempted carjacking at the Citgo gas station and likely preventing another attempt by the same men.
Officials say two guns were recovered at the scene, along with extra magazines and ammunition.
The case has been turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office for their review and consideration of criminal charges.
