Moped rider killed in early morning crash with vehicle in Port Huron

A 27-year-old man from Port Huron has succumbed to his injuries after colliding with a vehicle. (WDIV)

PORT HURON, Mich. – A 27-year-old man from Port Huron has succumbed to his injuries after colliding with a vehicle.

The incident occurred on Monday, Sept. 30, at 6:36 a.m. when the vehicle struck the man riding his moped in the roadway near the intersection of 10th Avenue and McPherson Street.

Police, fire, and tri-hospital EMS responded swiftly to the scene. Due to the severity of the incident, Port Huron Police Accident Investigators were requested to assist in the investigation.

The 27-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was initially transported to McLaren Port Huron Hospital.

Due to the critical nature of the injuries, the individual was subsequently transferred to McLaren Macomb for further medical treatment before succumbing to injuries.
