Oakland County man punches dog walker, takes off his shirt

Suspect cited for assault

TROY, Mich. – A 27-year-old man from Troy has been arrested after reportedly punching a man who was walking his dog.

The incident happened on Crooks Road at about 11 a.m., Sept. 27. According to authorities, the man was walking his dog when a stranger approached him, yelled at him, punched him and then took off his own shirt.

Police said they located the suspect a little north on Crooks Road, near Wattles Road and took him into custody. The suspect reportedly told police he had just quit his job and got into an argument with his family so he chose to assault the first person he saw.

He was cited for assault and battery and was petitioned for a mental health evaluation.
