CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mich. – An Oak Park man who had outstanding warrants for his arrest allegedly had throwing knives and small plastic containers of meth in his car, according to police.
Jon Heath Maher, 53, was pulled over in Grayling Township on Sept. 24 at around 3:30 a.m. Michigan State Police and a deputy from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office learned the driver had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. During Maher’s arrest, troopers found two sets of black double-edged, non-folding throwing knives and multiple small plastic containers inside the car.

Troopers said two of the containers had white crystallized residue, which later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Maher was placed at Crawford County Jail and was charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine less than 25 grams, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Operating without Security/Insurance. His bond was set at $1,500. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 26 at 2 p.m.
