FRASER, Mich. – The former employee at a Macomb County school who was accused of proposing to a student has pleaded no contest to charges.

Robert William Lindsay II was an EduStaff worker at Fraser High School. He resigned before his arrest.

Lindsay is charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with a 2023 relationship with a 15-year-old girl, officials said.

Lindsay is accused of having a sexual relationship with the girl from January to October of last year. Prosecutors said the student was in love with Lindsay, and that he proposed marriage to her.

“Such behavior is not only illegal, but deeply harmful,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said. “While this plea spares the victim from the pain of a trial, we will continue to ensure that justice is served.”

Lindsay pleaded no contest to all charges. That will be treated like a guilty plea at sentencing.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 17, 2024.
