Training mandated after suspended license driver collides with Detroit Fire Engine

A Detroit Fire Engine collided with a white SUV at an intersection, causing the fire engine to crash into a bus stop, but no injuries were reported. The SUV driver, who had a suspended license, was believed to be at fault, though some have criticized the fire engine driver for not ensuring the intersection was clear.

4 St. Clair Shores voters, 3 election employees charged for double voting

Four voters and three election employees in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, face felony charges for double voting in the August 2024 primary election. The voters, identified as Frank Prezzato, Stacy Kramer, Douglas Kempkins, Jr., and Geneva O’Day, allegedly cast both absentee and in-person ballots. Election workers Patricia Guciardo, Emily McClintock, and Molly Brasure are accused of facilitating this by instructing poll workers to override system warnings and altering voter files.

Former Michigan State head football coach Mel Tucker sued by sexual assault survivor

Former Michigan State head football coach Mel Tucker is facing a lawsuit filed by Brenda Tracy, a sexual assault survivor who accused him of sexual harassment. The lawsuit, filed in Ingham County Circuit Court, includes allegations of defamation, breach of contract, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress related to an incident in April 2022.

Weather: Sunshine to start the weekend before rain showers move in Sunday for Metro Detroit

After some sunshine to end the week, we are going to keep the dry weather into the forecast looking ahead into the first part of the weekend.
