MEYERS BEACH, Wis. – The US Coast Guard rescued eight people from Lake Superior this weekend.
According to authorities, the Bayfield Station received a report of two capsized kayakers off Meyers Beach, Wisconsin. There was a group of eight kayakers, including the two people who were in the water and clinging to one of the kayaks. The Coast Guard sent a boat out and pulled the two people from the water. The other six people in the group were uncertain they could make it back to shore due to the weather, so all eight people were taken onboard.

The eight people were medically evaluated and no injuries were reported.
