OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Police in Oakland County are asking for help finding who put bags filled with antisemitic writing across several neighborhoods.
Where were the bags found?
Police said the bags were found outside more than 100 homes in Farmington Hills. Three law enforcement agencies are working to track down the people responsible for spreading hate driveway-to-driveway.
West Bloomfield police are also investigating who put out another 100 of them in their neighborhoods. There are reports of the same thing happening in White Lake.
What are in the bags?
The bags contained an antisemitic flyer and were weighed down with various materials to make it easier to throw onto the homes’ driveways and lawns. It’s unknown what exactly the various materials are.
Police responding
Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King said it could be connected to Monday marking one year since Hammas’ attack in Israel.
“We want our community to know, specifically our Jewish Community, that we are aware of this, we are cognizant of the timing, and we will not tolerate this kind of a hate-based activity in our community,” King said.
Police are asking residents to check their doorbell cameras to see if they captured anything. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Farmington Hills Police Department at 248-871-2610.
