Experts are calling Hurricane Milton an “extremely serious threat” as the storm approaches Florida.

Milton is expected to make landfall on Florida’s west coast late Wednesday -- less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene.

Southfield teen charged in armed robbery during rabbi’s Rosh Hashanah celebration

An 18-year-old from Southfield is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a rabbi’s home during a Rosh Hashanah gathering for University of Michigan students.

Police in Southfield held a press conference Monday, Oct. 7, to update the public on the case and to assure people that they do not believe the crime was motivated by antisemitism.

Metro Detroit communities report antisemitic flyers, vandalism

Multiple Metro Detroit communities reported having antisemitic acts happening in their area on Sunday and Monday.

The first alarming report that led to police launching an investigation was hate-filled baggies containing flyers with antisemitic writing and various materials found on driveways in several neighborhoods in Oakland County. Neighborhoods in Wayne County also reported that similar baggies were thrown around in their neighborhood, as well.

Weather: Frosty nights ahead in Metro Detroit

Grab the shades as you head out the door today and a sweater as we continue our sunny and seasonal stretch. This week’s weather pattern will definitely be the ingredients needed for more fall color change across the area.

Aside from a slight chance for a lake effect shower to clip the Thumb today, dry weather continues with seasonably average highs in the 60s and generally sunny skies. Clear skies tonight and tomorrow night allow temps in the suburbs to fall well into the 30s offering frost by early morning Wednesday and Thursday. It will still be breezy this afternoon with gusts near 20 mph.
