Pontiac shooting leaves 2 dead

Police in Pontiac investigate an Oct. 8, 2024 shooting that killed two people. (WDIV)

PONTIAC, Mich. – Police in Pontiac are investigating a shooting that left two people dead Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The shooting happened just before 9:45 a.m. near the intersection of Fiddis Avenue and North Sanford Street. A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 24-year-old man succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.

Witnesses said someone ran from the apartment after the shooting. Their identity is currently unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
