Red Wings reschedule home opener start time due to Tigers game

Game now starts hour later

Traffic is expected to be heavy Thursday and fans are urged to arrive early to give themselves time to find parking.

DETROIT – The Red Wings have rescheduled the start time of their home opener Thursday, Oct. 10, against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Officials said the change was to minimize overlap with the Detroit Tigers ALDS Game.

The game, which initially was going to start at 7 p.m., will now start at 8 p.m. due to the Tigers game against the Cleveland Guardians at Comerica Park at 6:08 p.m.

Traffic is expected to be heavy and fans are urged to arrive early to give themselves time to find parking.

Doors to Little Caesars Arena for ticketed fans will open at 5 p.m.
