Where police found unregistered gun after woman crashes in Oakland County

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Police said they found an unregistered gun after a woman crashed her car in Oakland County.

Michigan State Police troopers said they were investigating a crash Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, on I-696 in Oakland County when a second crash happened.

One of the drivers, a 33-year-old Detroit woman, was speaking with troopers when they saw a 9 mm Ruger tucked into the driver’s door pocket.

Troopers said they investigated the gun and learned that it was not registered.

The woman was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, driving with a suspended license, and not having insurance.
