Watch helicopter track down suspects fleeing police in Detroit

2 arrested late Thursday night and early Friday morning

DETROIT – Michigan State Police released video Friday morning of two people being arrested after both drove off from traffic stops not related to each other.

You can watch the full video above.

The video posted to X on Oct. 11 showed the first suspect driving off from a traffic stop down Southfield Road with its lights off. Michigan State Police can be heard telling Detroit police the description of the suspect and the car’s location. Police were able to find the suspect sitting outside by a road, and he was arrested.

Michigan State Police also tracked a second suspect in a separate incident where they ran from a traffic stop just hours later. The helicopter tracked the suspect going to a house—patrol cars followed and arrested them.

“Instead of a traffic ticket, these suspects are now sitting in jail looking at felony charges,” said Michigan State Police.
