Redford Township man killed in Monroe County motorcycle crash

Police believe high rates of speed are a factor in crash

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Redford Township man died after losing control of the motorcycle he was driving in Monroe County, according to police.

The crash happened at around 3:57 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, in the area of the U.S. Turnpike and Roberts Road in Berlin Township.

Michigan State Police said a 55-year-old Redford Township man was traveling north on the U.S. Turnpike when he lost control of his motorcycle and went off the roadway. The motorcycle was overturned and the man was ejected. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Redford Township man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said high rates of speed are believed to be a factor in the crash.
