DETROIT – Two officers have been grazed, and the suspect is killed during an apparent shootout on Detroit’s east side.
The shooting occurred on Monday (Oct. 14) afternoon near the intersection of Davison Freeway and Riopelle Street.
A witness said they saw more than 10 police vehicles and heard gunfire back and forth between police and the suspect.
“I heard a handgun fired first, police returned fire, and moments later, they were still standing, and then after that, there was rapid fire like a machine gun or AK-47 or something.”
Officers have been taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital after the exchange of gunfire.
