Detroit police officers injured in shootout with off-duty cop released from hospital

Two Detroit police officers injured in a shootout on Monday with a fellow officer are back home after they were released from the hospital Tuesday night.

The shooting happened on Monday, Oct. 14, just before 2:30 p.m. in the area of E Davison and St. Aubin near the Highland Park water tower.

Cedar Point selling pieces of original Maverick track

While Cedar Point is in the middle of HalloWeekends, there is something else happening at the park.

The amusement park is selling pieces of the Maverick coaster—not the current one. When Maverick was originally built, an extra section was later replaced. So, there were hundreds of track slices sitting around and collecting dust.

Weather: Rollercoaster of temperatures ahead in Metro Detroit

Brrr.... Have you turned the heat on yet? We are waking up to temperatures in the 30s with some feels like temperatures that have fallen below freezing. We will likely be a bit cooler tomorrow morning before a big rise in temperatures.

Other than a few sprinkles possible closer to the Lake Huron shoreline in the Thumb, the rest of Southeast Michigan clears out the clouds and has cool sunshine on tap today. Wind gusts could reach 20 mph midday factoring into cooler wind chills, but actual air temperatures will peak in the mid-50s this afternoon.
