IDA TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Thursday marks 38 years since a man’s skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area in Monroe County and he still has not been identified.

The skeletal remains of a man believed to be 25 to 45 years old were discovered on Oct. 17, 1986, in a wooded area off Lewis Avenue, north of Albain Road in Ida Township. According to the Doe Network, the cause of death was “massive head injuries.”

The man is believed to have had a long, narrow face, a prominent nose, and a high forehead.
