Authorities find 13 dogs dead, 44 alive in Genesee County home
57 dogs were removed from a Genesee County home on Tuesday—13 of them were found dead.
A public transportation driver and passengers reported to police on Oct. 12 that the home smelled so horrific that they believed there was a body in the house, and the smell carried to the homeowners.
When police checked out the home in the 1200 block of Lesalle Avenue in Burton on Oct. 15, they found 57 dogs. Most of the dogs were found in kennels stacked by threes throughout the home. Police said the dogs were found in a hoarding situation.
Man still unidentified 38 years after skeletal remains discovered in Monroe County
Thursday marks 38 years since a man’s skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area in Monroe County and he still has not been identified.
The skeletal remains of a man believed to be 25 to 45 years old were discovered on Oct. 17, 1986, in a wooded area off Lewis Avenue, north of Albain Road in Ida Township. According to the Doe Network, the cause of death was “massive head injuries.”

Shockwaves spread around the world Thursday at the death of Liam Payne, who shot to stardom as a member of British boy band One Direction and had to deal with intense global fame while still in his teens.
Fans, music-industry figures and fellow musicians paid tribute to Payne, 31, who died after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Buenos Aires police said Payne fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in the trendy Palermo neighborhood of Argentina’s capital on Wednesday, resulting in “extremely serious injuries.” Medics confirmed his death on the spot, the police said in a statement.
