Suspect arraigned for shooting, killing man in Macomb County

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – The man accused of shooting and killing a 54-year-old man in Macomb County on Friday was arraigned.

On Oct. 11 at around 6:30 a.m., 54-year-old Roger Palmer from Detroit was found dead at his desk in the 41400 block of Executive Drive in Harrison Township with a gunshot wound to his head.

The suspect was not at the scene by the time police arrived. However, they watched surveillance footage and saw a man leaving the scene in an SUV.

On Oct. 15, 28-year-old Karl Johnson from Southfield was arrested.

Johnson was arraigned in Clinton Township on Oct. 17. He was charged with one count of First Degree Premeditated Murder. His bond was set at $5 million cash/surety only, and he has to wear a steel cuff tether if released.

Johnson’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 29, 2024.
