Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Marvin Lee Flentroy, 64, of Pontiac, in connection with a car crash that killed a 3-year-old girl from Hamtramck.

Flentroy was a school bus driver for Auxilio Services, transporting Hamtramck Public School students.

The crash occurred on Jul. 16, 2024, at 3:06 p.m., when Flentroy was at the intersection of Burger Street and MacKay Steet.

Prosecutors said, while turning on Burger Street, Flentroy struck the child while she was crossing the street.

Medics arrived on the scene and transported the 3-year-old girl to a Metro Detroit hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Flentroy has been charged with reckless driving causing death.

He was arraigned on Oct. 10, 2024, in 31st District Court and given a $10,000 personal bond.

The 64-year-old man was also ordered not to drive. A probable cause conference is scheduled for Oct. 24, 2024, at 8 a.m., and the preliminary examination is scheduled for Oct. 31, 2024, at 8 a.m.
