Before he was executed at the age of 34, he had engaged in insurance fraud, forgery, scamming people, arson, kidnapping, horse theft, several bigamous marriages and -- most famously -- was one of America’s first serial killers who reportedly built a murder castle.

Go 4 It: Meet the women helping others Live Without Fear

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, an average of 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States. That’s more than 12 million women and men over the course of a single year.

That’s why HAVEN is so important. It offers programs for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The nonprofit provides shelter, counseling, advocacy, and educational programs to nearly 30,000 people each year, helping people across Metro Detroit.

Construction plans unveiled for former Palace of Auburn Hills site

Schostak Brothers & Company announced that construction on a supplier logistics center at the former Palace of Auburn Hills site is underway.

The fourth-generation commercial real estate company, which has built a legacy of more than 100 years of Michigan development, announced the groundbreaking on Monday (Oct. 21).

General Motors overcomes US sales drop and China losses to post 3rd quarter profit of $3 billion

U.S. sales are down and a once-reliably profitable joint venture in China is losing money, but General Motors still managed to post a third quarter profit of $3 billion Tuesday, slightly less than it made a year ago.

The Detroit automaker reported $48.8 billion in revenue from July through September, 10% more than last year, aided by U.S. average vehicle sale prices that were steady with last quarter at over $49,000.

Weather: Another warm October day in Metro Detroit with chances for rain
