DETROIT – A fuel spill from a crash had closed north I-275 near Plymouth in Wayne County.
The crash occurred on Wednesday (Oct. 23) at 4:15 p.m.
Troopers said they are investigating the serious crash that led to the fuel spill.
The freeway is closed, and Troopers who suggest drivers should expect long delays through rush hour advise commuters to take another route.

The Detroit Regional Communication Center received calls of a multi-vehicle crash
MSP investigation revealed that traffic in the right lane on northbound I-275 was stopped when a 71-year-old Howell man driving a semi-truck could not stop in time and rear-ended another semi.
Officials say the second semi was pushed into a passenger car, which was pushed into a van.
A third semi attempted to avoid the second semi but sideswiped it.
The at-fault driver and passenger car driver were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Northbound I-275 is currently closed at Ford Road. Hines Drive, under the overpass, is also closed due to a fuel spill.
“It is key to leave enough following distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you,” said F/Lt Mike Shaw. “It is the driver’s responsibility to make sure they can stay in control of their vehicle and stop safely.”
