Michigan sees record-breaking early voting turnout with 1.15M votes cast

Detroiters break record for early voting turnout too

Michiganders are setting records when it comes to early voting.

According to the Department of State, about 16%, or 1.15 million of Michigan voters have already cast their ballots.

Detroiters are breaking their own records, too, as early in-person voting started Saturday, Oct. 19, in the city.

On that first day, 1,888 people voted compared to the 266 Detroiters who voted on the first early voting day for the primary election.

While the time has passed to register to vote online or by mail, eligible voters can still register by visiting your county clerk’s office.

By this Saturday, Oct. 26, all Michiganders can vote in person at designated polling locations.
