Eastern Michigan suspends professor following arrest in child predator sting with Chris Hansen

Sting took place last month at an undisclosed residence

An Eastern Michigan University professor is suspended after being arrested in a child predator sting operation with Chris Hansen.

The sting took place last month at an undisclosed residence in Huron Township.

The professor’s arrest is featured in an episode of “Takedown with Chris Hansen” on TruBlu.

Chris Hansen, a former WDIV reporter, became famous for his show “To Catch a Predator” on Dateline NBC.

His latest show has a similar premise: local law enforcement lured the professor to a location by having her pose as a 15-year-old girl online.

In the episode, Hansen worked with the Huron Township Department of Public Safety and Genesee County Sheriff’s Human Oppression Strike Team (GHOST).

In the episode, the professor is arrested and admits to being an EMU professor.

EMU suspended the professor and barred him from campus.

“The actions the individual is accused of are detestable and abhorrent and stand against everything the University stands for,” said EMU in a statement.

The professor was arrested but has since been released. Police say they expect charges to be filed soon.

Students at EMU were shocked to learn of the arrest.

“I just did not expect To Catch a Predator to happen anywhere near here,” said EMU student Kaylee Klaczynski.
