FERNDALE, Mich. – A child has been arrested after at least four women reported being groped by a bicyclist in Oakland County.
Officials said a fourth woman came forward on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, to report that she had been touched inappropriately in the area of Livernois and Fielding streets in Ferndale.
Three other women reported being targeted by a bicyclist near the intersection of Farmdale and Troy streets, near Vester and Woodward avenues, and near Breckenridge Street and Woodward Avenue.
On Friday, Ferndale police identified a child linked to all four of these cases and took him into custody.
“We take these incidents very seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety of our community,” Ferndale police Chief Dennis Emmi said. “I commend the individuals who bravely came forward to report these incidents, as their courage has been essential to this investigation. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our investigators for their diligent work in advancing this case.”
All four cases have been submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision.
