Man charged in string of Monroe County break-ins

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 25-year-old man is facing charges for a string of home invasions in Monroe Township.

According to authorities, three separate homes in the Meadowbrook Mobile Home Community were broken into on Oct. 8. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Bailey Austin Herrell, who was reportedly already wanted on several unrelated warrants.

On Oct. 10, deputies reportedly located Herrell near the intersection of Telegraph and Dunbar roads and attempted a traffic stop, but Herrell drove off. He was eventually located in the Evergreen Acres subdivision and taken into custody on his unrelated warrants.

He was charged with resisting and obstructing and carrying a concealed weapon.

On Thursday, Oct. 24, Herrell was arraigned on the additional charges of first-degree and second-degree home invasion. He was given a bond of $50,000 for both cases.
