Michigan Science Center brings spooky STEM fun to the museum during Halloween events

DETROIT – The Michigan Science Center is providing thrills and lessons ahead of Halloween for kids of all ages.

This weekend, it’s hosting spooky STEM Fun through its “Spooktacular Weekend” for families and “After Dark: Nightmare on John R Street” for adults.

The STEM-themed events are on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For adults aged 21 and over, “After Dark: Nightmare on John R Street” will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Both events will include access to Mi-Sci’s special exhibition Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family, which is included with general admission.

Visitors are encouraged to dress in costume and bring their own bags for onsite Trick-or-Treat activities.

The weekend lineup includes:

  • 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Creepy Chemistry Show on the Science Stage
  • 12 p.m. - Costume Parade
  • 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. - Trick-or-Treating
  • BASF Kids’ Lab featuring Chemistry Caper at the Portal to STEM
