Port Huron police welcomes new K9, asking students to help choose name

PORT HURON, Mich. – Port Huron police are welcoming the newest addition to their K9 team.

Coming from the Slovak Republic, the K9 will be working alongside his handler, officer Caleb Paul.

The 14-month-old German Shepherd and his handler have recently visited elementary and middle schools across Port Huron to introduce the K9 and learn about their job in the police department.

The Port Huron Police Department is asking students in the city to help name their new K9 by inviting them to submit name suggestions and their best drawings of the new K9. The police department will review all submissions and share their favorite name suggestions and drawings before announcing the K9’s new name.
