What we know: Father may have taken missing River Rouge teen and fled toward Florida

Police think a missing River Rouge teenager was taken by his father outside a McDonald’s, and they are believed to be heading to Florida.

The family of 13-year-old Christopher Brown Jr. said he was last seen at 10:07 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, at the McDonald’s at 10995 West Jefferson Avenue in River Rouge.

They believe he “is in immediate danger.”

‘You saved my baby’: Grateful mom thanks firefighters for heroic rescue of son from Detroit house fire

On National First Responders Day, a Detroit mother is expressing her gratitude.

“Thank you so much for everything. You saved my baby. You saved my family,” said Jasmine Nesbitt as she held her two-year-old son, Jayveon.

Nesbitt and her son reunited with the Detroit firefighters at Ladder 18, who rescued the toddler from a fire at their home on Jan. 22.

Weather: Rain ahead of record warm, whipping winds in Metro Detroit

Make sure your outdoor Halloween decorations are secure! Breezy conditions will develop today through Thursday with peak gusts 30-40 mph. We are expecting record warmth today and Wednesday as temperatures soar close to 80 degrees.

Showers and a rumble of thunder or two move out by sunrise. Record warmth moves in this afternoon with temperatures rising into the upper 70s. The current record high stands at 77 degrees in 1999. Wind picks up out of the southwest with gusts in the 30 mph range today.
