MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 21-year-old in Macomb County is accused of following and shooting at a car with three children inside.
The shooting happened at 4:43 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, in the 46300 block of Gabriell Drive in Macomb Township.
Officers said three people under the age of 18 pulled up to a home in that block, where one of them lives. That child walked toward the home and got into an argument with family members and Kevin Price, 21, of Clinton Township.
The other two children stood outside the car, police said.
When the first child returned to the car, Price pulled out a gun and ammunition, officials said. Price loaded and racked the gun, they said.
The children left in the car, and Price followed them in his own vehicle, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. He pulled alongside them, pointed his gun out the window, and fired two shots, police said.
The other car accelerated and got away from Price. Officials did not say that anyone was injured.
Price was arrested without issue and taken to the Macomb County Jail.
He was arraigned Tuesday at 41A District Court in Shelby Township on the following charges:
- One count of discharging a firearm from a vehicle -- a 10-year felony.
- One count of malicious destruction of personal property, $1,000-$20,000 -- a five-year felony.
- Three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon -- each a four-year felony.
- Four felony firearm violations -- each a two-year felony, served consecutively.
Bond was set at $500,000, cash/surety. Price must wear a GPS tether and be confined to his home, if released.
