TAYLOR, Mich. – A man is accused of stabbing another person to death during a melee behind a Taylor bar.

The fight happened at 1:39 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, outside Big League Brews on Ecorse Road in Taylor.

Police said they were called to the bar and found a large group of people fighting in the back parking lot that leads to the sidewalk near Mayfair Street and Ecorse Road.

One person had been stabbed during the fight, officials said. That person was taken to Corewell Hospital in Taylor and died from the injury.

During their investigation, detectives identified William Parker, 40, of Taylor, as the suspected stabber.

Taylor police and Downriver SWAT officials found Parker at a home in Ypsilanti and took him into custody.

He is charged with second-degree murder.

Parker was arraigned Tuesday at 23rd District Court and remanded to the Wayne County Detention Center without bond.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for Nov. 13, 2024.
