3-year-old shot in stomach in Detroit’s west side
A 3-year-old boy was shot in the stomach early Wednesday morning in Detroit’s west side.
It happened on West Grand Street in the area of Livernois and Davison at around 12:45 a.m. on Oct. 30.
According to Assistant Chief Charles Fitzgerald, the child was shot inside his home. He said the stories told by the mother and father are conflicting and inconsistent.
Police searching for men posing as salesmen in Taylor following home invasion
Police are searching for a group of men posing as salesmen going door to door at homes in Taylor after one of them allegedly broke into a house, assaulted someone and stole their belongings.
On Oct. 29 at around 4 p.m. at a home near Munson Avenue and Bailey Avenue, a victim found an unknown man in their basement.
They were babies in NICU together. Now they’re back at the same Dearborn hospital as newlyweds
A couple who were both in the same NICU together when they were born 28 years ago returned to the Dearborn hospital as newlyweds.
It all began with a pair of women whose babies were taken to the newborn intensive care unit back in 1996.
“If you would‘ve seen me as a parent 28 years ago, there was fear, doubt, helplessness, hopelessness,” Sherry Krambeck said. “Now there’s joy.”
New information on plan to cover I-75 ‘Cap Project’ in downtown Detroit
A public input meeting was held on Tuesday for the I-75 Cap Project.
The I-75 cap is a local project supported by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
A highway cap is a type of bridge built on top of a highway. It’s commonly used to create new park areas and connect the community.
The feedback was largely positive at the meeting.

It’s already a comfortable start to the day with temperatures starting in the 60s and low 70s! After reaching a record high temperature yesterday, record warmth continues today as southwest winds gust around 35 mph lifting temperatures to near 80 this afternoon.
Back-to-back record days! It will be a warm and Windy Wednesday with highs expected to crush the previous record of 76 degrees set back in 1999. We will have a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will feel more like June as opposed to late October.
