Oakland County bridal store owner pleads no contest in defrauding investigation

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The owner of an Oakland County bridal shop accused of defrauding multiple brides pleaded no contest to her charges.

Birmingham Bridal abruptly closed in June of 2023. Birmingham police said their investigation found the owner, 58-year-old West Bloomfield resident Nadica Ristivojevic, was using funds from new orders to pay for older orders.

In total, victims were defrauded of approximately $40,000 - $50,000.

On Oct. 31, 2024, Ristivojevic pleaded no contest to Larceny by Conversion. Her charge of False Pretenses was dropped.

She’s scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 19, 2024.
