Michigan Department of Treasury offering session in Macomb County on saving for college education

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Saving for your child’s college education can be overwhelming and stressful, but there is help from the State of Michigan.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, there’s an opportunity to learn more. The Michigan Department of Treasury is having a free drop-in session to discuss the state’s 529 college savings plan.

There’s also financial incentive. The Michigan Education Trust will contribute $150 toward each new prepaid tuition contract purchased at the session.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Macomb Township Recreation Center on Macomb Street. Anyone can drop by to hear about the program and get some tips on planning for their children’s education.
