3 injured in Oakland County apartment fire

Dozens displaced

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – An apartment complex in Southfield was destroyed Monday in a massive fire.

It started Monday, Nov. 4, afternoon, at the Le Chateau apartments, located on Southfield Road, near 10 Mile Road.

Fire crews from six neighboring communities assisted in extinguishing the blaze.

The blaze, believed to have started in a second-story apartment, quickly spread, causing the roof to collapse and damaging or destroying 32 apartment homes.

While all residents evacuated safely, three individuals sustained minor injuries from smoke inhalation, with one person hospitalized.
