Video shows driver disregard flashing red light, crash into Port Huron police car

The officer and driver sustained minor injuries

PORT HURON, Mich. – A driver crashed into a Port Huron police officer’s car early Saturday morning after failing to stop at a flashing red light, police said.

The officer was driving southbound on 24th Street when a 52-year-old from St. Clair was driving a Dodge Ram eastbound on Dove Street. The driver disregarded the flashing red light and crashed into the police car.

Police say the officer and the driver were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and were later released.

The 52-year-old driver was cited for causing an accident after disregarding a flashing red light.
