Detroit police are investigating a polling center that received a threat of a potential shooting. (WDIV)

DETROIT – Detroit police are investigating a polling center that received a threat of a potential shooting.

Officials say the phone threat of a potential shooting occurred on Monday (Nov. 4) in the 21600 block of West 7 Mile Road.

According to a Facebook post, the Detroit Police Department received a phone call claiming to have heard a threat to a polling location.

DPD said they’re working with its law enforcement partners to locate the post, identify the person responsible for it, assess the reportedly made threat, and respond accordingly.

Officials said they’re committed to ensuring public safety at all polling locations during the election cycle.
