The shooting occurred on Tuesday (Nov. 5) at 7 p.m. in the 15344 block of W. McNichols Road.

Officials said two men flagged them down while they were on patrol, saying two men had been shot inside the recording studio.

“The incident is contained as it happened this afternoon, and there is no threat to the community as the shooting happened inside the location,” said Detroit police Deputy Chief Jacqueline Pritchett.

Officers said they responded and went into the location and found three people shot, which included a deceased Black man and Black woman and another Black man who had suffered from gunshot wounds.

The injured man was conveyed to a Metro Detroit hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

“(The shooting) It should be frightening to everyone as no one wants to be in a neighborhood where people are shot,” Pritchett said. “The Detroit Police Department is capable. We are out here. We are heroes, and I’m confident this crime can be solved as well.”

A homicide task force is handling the situation and is looking at Ring doorbell cameras that could capture anyone leaving the scene of the shooting.

“If anyone has seen anything, heard anything, please let us know,” Pritchett said. “If you see something, say something. You can call 1-800-Speak-Up, DetroitRewardsTV, or you can call homicide at 313-596-2260.”
