One of the men asked the student if she wanted some company and if she had a roommate. The group also asked if they could take her car for a ride. This resulted in the men trying to take the keys from the student’s hand.

She yelled for help, and her roommate opened the door to her room. The group then headed towards a stairwell and ran away from the building.

Police are searching for the men, who were reported to be 5′11″ and 6′ tall. All were wearing dark jackets.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Oakland University Police Department at (248) 370-3331.

Police recommend the following to staff and students on campus:

  • Stick to well lighted streets and well-populated areas.
  • Walk with friends or in a group.
