SUV hits, kills pedestrian in St Clair County

FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A pedestrian was killed late Tuesday, Nov. 5, when he was struck by an SUV in St. Clair County.

The crash happened just before midnight in Gratiot Township.

According to authorities, the man was walking northbound in the right lane of 24th Avenue when he was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the Silverado -- identified as a 62-year-old man from Deckerville -- stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with authorities.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
