2 arrested in connection to deadly shooting in Warren

Man found dead in backyard of Warren home

(WDIV)

WARREN, Mich. – Two people were arrested early Friday morning in connection to a shooting that killed a man in Warren.

The shooting happened in the 11000 block of Paige Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Nov. 8. When officers arrived at the home, a 23-year-old man was found dead in the backyard with gunshot wounds.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence incident, and they believe the man’s ex-girlfriend and her relative were involved and left to a house in the 1100 block of Jewett Avenue—a few streets away from the shooting.

Two women were found in the home and were taken to the Warren Police Department for questioning.

Investigators later learned a 32-year-old man, who is a relative to one of the women, was involved in the shooting. They went to the man’s house in the 27000 block of Thomas Street and arrested him. Another woman was taken to the police department for questioning.

Police said there is no threat to the community since they all knew each other.
