REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One person has died following a domestic-related shooting at a motel in Wayne County over the weekend, police said.

At 4:57 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, Redford Township officers responded to the Travelers Motor Inn Motel at 9939 Telegraph Road after receiving a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a victim who had a gunshot wound to the face but still had a pulse.

Officers began providing life-saving measures, and then EMS transported the person to a local hospital, where they died from their injuries.

At the shooting scene, officers identified a suspect they believed was connected to the shooting, and took him into custody.

Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Redford Township Detective C. Short at 313-387-2581 or cshort@redfordpd.org.
