Death investigation in Lenawee County leads to drug bust

LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. – A death investigation in Lenawee County led to police finding $100,000 worth of suspected heroin, cocaine and Fentanyl on Thursday.

It started when Blissfield police responded to a report of a person found unconscious on Nov. 7, 2024. Paul Jones, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation with Michigan State Police resulted in one arrest, and numerous handguns, rifles and cash were seized. Police also found suspected cocaine, heroin and Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $100,000.

Jones' cause and manner of death are still being investigated.
