Crash shuts down I-75 near Swan Lake Road

There was a crash early Tuesday morning on I-75 near Swan Lake Road, and the freeway is still closed as crews assess the scene.

Following the crash, multiple other crashes were reported on I-75 near I-275.

Oakland County saw a rare November tornado Sunday evening.

Michigan sees lowest gas prices since February, AAA says

Gas prices in Michigan have dropped 12 cents and are at the lowest prices drivers have seen since February.

Drivers are now paying an average of $3.04 per gallon for regular unleaded gas, according to AAA- The Auto Club Group, and a full 15-gallon tank of gas is costing drivers about $45. This is a $13 discount from 2023’s highest gas prices in August.

The current average price per gallon in Metro Detroit is $3.10, which is down about seven cents from last week.

Remembering the Edmond Fitzgerald (not a typo)

The Edmond Fitzgerald sank during what was supposed to be the last run of the season.

Caught in a November snowstorm, visibility was low and waves washed over the deck. The waters eventually ripped the ship apart and all seven crew members lost their lives in the cold waters of Lake Erie.

I swear this isn’t some Mad-Libs with some details just swapped out. The legendary S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald that sank in Lake Superior nearly 50 years ago was not the first Fitzgerald the Great Lakes had claimed.
